It’s labor day and you’re in the middle of a sea of black faces, every shade, colorful costumes, it’s a festival. In fact about two million people are in attendance, it’s said to be the largest parade in New York, a celebration of Caribbean (West Indian) culture and beauty. There’s home cooked delicious and affordable food, authentic tastes, all sorts of traditional beverages. Music fills the air, loud speakers, trucks renovated as floats on which people dancing in and out of. The streets are vibrant, everyone’s dancing — dancehall, reggae, occasionally you hear an Afro-beat song. The energy is contagious and you can’t help but join in. Here are some pictures of that experience.

The #WestIndianDayParade that happens annually in Brooklyn is quite festival and colorful and it’s an engaging experience to check it out!
